the first cup in the team's 45 year history. Won on home ice in front of their fans. they took it to Game 6 (and could've won it in 4), but no matter because it is theirs now.
I had to work that night, so I listened in from work via the NHL app on my phone. Mike watched the game at home by himself, since my parents picked up Keira from school and steered clear of home until the game was in the bag.
They beat the New Jersey Devils 6 to 1, scoring the first 3 goals on a 5 minute power play. I honestly thought I was hearing things when the score went to 4, then 4 to1, then 5 to 1, and finally 6 to 1. Did they just win?! holy smackaroly!!
We are definitely going to enjoy this one for a while. I can't say that I am a longtime Kings fan, in fact I am not. But it's because of Mike that I have come to enjoy the game and I am excited to learn more about it. I realized that one of the first dates Mike and I went on was a Kings game way back in 2001.
We are excited for our team and can't get enough of all the coverage the Kings are currently getting. Our DVR is almost at capacity from all the tv appearances we have saved.
Go Kings Go!
