so, I suck at blogging. Today is 11/30. The last time I blogged? 9/25. Figured I'd throw something up here before 2 months have come and gone and December hits us in the face.
Lots of stuff going on around here. Rain has come to Southern California, and may actually stay for more than a day. Kinda nice considering we had days of blistering heat, where I was thankful I had a job to go to...with free air conditioning.
Keira is still as rambunctious as ever. She mentioned her butt crack last night, and when I asked her where she learned that phrase from, she didn't know. My guess? Probably from me or Mike. I put myself first, since that's where she learned the term "hot mess" from. She has quite the imagination and can tell you that she is half Chinese, half "Vietamanese". She is still very much into all things Disney Princess (she was both Sleeping Beauty and the Little Mermaid for Halloween) and taught Mike and I the best Thanksgiving song we've ever heard. I'll have to get a video of her singing it sometime.
There is still no hockey right now, and Mike sort of knew this would happen. Looks like our beloved LA Kings get to hold on to the Cup just a little bit longer. He had a root canal, and two new veneers put on his hockey-busted front teeth and has been bringing home the bacon since I've been on medical leave. He's getting busier at work (which is good) but still manages to find the time and energy for family things. We are hoping to get our Christmas tree this weekend, as well as put up the rest of our holiday lights outside. All things only he can do, since there's no heavy lifting on my part for a bit.
As for me, I'm in recovery mode and doing better each day. The myomectomy (essentially surgical removal of the fibroid) went better than expected (Lupron rocks!) and the doctors were able to remove the one and only fibroid I had. The first 24 hours after surgery kicked my rear end and I realized anesthesia plus Jamie does not a good situation make (I'd be a crappy addict). I spent most of October giving flu shots and tying up loose ends at work, and turned 35 early November. I'm in major Christmas gifting mode right now, and have chosen to go a more handmade route by either making things myself or supporting handmade.
That's us in a nutshell. I just hope another 2 months doesn't fly by before I blog again.
