one thing we are working on to get Keira ready for preschool is weaning her off her need for milk when she goes to sleep. It's a crutch that I've never felt 100% about, because I always worry about cavities at an early age. And now that she is going to school, where they don't allow bottles or sippy cups at naptime, it's a good time to change things up.
We've started having Keira drink milk before she goes to bed, and while it's still a struggle and she asks for milky as she is trying to settle down, she is able to sleep without it. I was afraid (and still am) that it would be hard for her to nap at school, and didn't want her crying to keep the other kids up. So this bit of progress makes me feel a little better.
Another thing I'm worried about is how she will be at snack and mealtimes. This school provides both for her, and knowing that she isn't the most adventurous of eaters (but she is getting better all the time), I'm afraid she'll be starving by the end of the day. But I've heard that when a kid sees other kids doing something, it pushes them to do it too.
In less than two weeks, my little girl is going off to school and I know I'm going to be a mess. But, as with everything, things take time. I know she, and I, will get used it.
sniff, sniff...
what school is she going to? she won't starve. even if she gets hungry she'll eat later at home.

My son was the same way but as soon as he saw other kids doing something he did it. For nap time, he was put with a 'good' sleeper. Since the other kid wasn't awake to talk or play he just went to sleep. The daycare's know how to handle any kid. But you sound just like me when I sent him off for the first time.
