this little piggy has not been feeling all that great the last few days. but things are starting to look up...knock on wood.
the 100+ degree temperature started on Saturday, and boy was she hot. it was 105 when I first measured it. Tylenol every 4 hours was definitely a must, otherwise the fever would climb back up again, making for a majorly cranky kid.
Unfortunately, I had to work on Sunday but thankfully, we have two pediatricians for neighbors. The husband was nice enough to come over and check Keira for us, and said she looked and sounded fine and what she had was most likely a virus (my thoughts exactly!). We kept pushing fluids and let her eat whatever she wanted. Her appetite was not really there, but anything was better than nothing.
Monday was more of the same, and Mike had to take off work early so I could go to work. Last night was not the greatest, more crankiness and lovely curdled milk vomit to go with it. That lead to a 2am bath for the girl and a load of laundry for the mom.
This morning seems to be much better, she isn't as warm as she was the past few days, and she seems to be getting her appetite back. Mike's parents (thankfully, again) are coming down to watch her for the afternoon so I can go to work and Mike doesn't have to take more time off. What would we do without them? She normally goes to her cousin's house, but I didn't want to spread whatever she had to other people.
A lot to be thankful for right now...life is good.
