I took Mike to the airport this morning. He's off to Hawaii for his business trip. On one hand, I'm excited for him because this is the first time he gets to go somewhere cool for work. He doesn't get to go on business trips very often, and when he does it's somewhere in the boonies. But on the other hand, we haven't been apart for this long since we've been married. Sure he's gone on weekend fishing trips for 4 days, or I've gone up north for the weekend, but 2 weeks?? To me it seems like forever.
Am I a nerd? I went home after dropping him off because it was too early for me to go to work and I crawled back into bed. I was happy to find that his side was still warm. So I snuggled in and tried to fall asleep for an hour. and yes, I did cry a little because I still don't know how I'll get through two weeks without him. I was telling him last night I don't know what I'll eat while he's gone, since usually there's two of us and it's worthwhile to cook. I wouldn't be surprised if I'm eating a lot of Happy Meals while he's gone. But since I do need lunch for work, I'm sure I can whip up something simple.
So, what will I be doing while the husband is away? Watching tv (which I already do), making a visit to where I went for pharmacy school this coming Wednesday (just because), and probably getting some scrapping done. I even have grander plans of finally purging my scrap supplies and tidying up the loft. How surprised would Mike be when he comes home to find it organized? I'm hoping to go visit my BFF next weekend for her big 3-0 too, I've been thinking about her lately and wondering how she's doing.
And then there's work. That'll keep me busy 40 hours a week. Flu shots start this week too and I'm partly dreading it. I don't mind doing them and know that they're a good thing (for patients AND for the company), but I just don't want to be totally bogged down with them. Luckily I'm not doing the traveling clinic this year, so I'll be taking appointments for days that I'm working. I've already gotten mine too.
I brought Harry Potter book 2 with me to work today, so I may get some reading time in too. But I need to do CEs for my license, which expires at the end of November. I dread doing those because it's work related and not always fun, but it's crunch time now and I need my units! Fortunately for me, my dad has to do them too and he's done a bunch already, so I'll just copy off him. Who would've thought I'd be cheating off my dad?!?
so that's that in a nutshell. Thank goodness it's almost lunch time. I'm ready to eat,
