of last night's Kings game against the New York Rangers. the last game we went to, Mike bought a LA Kings license plate frame for his car. And ever since he put it on, the Kings have lost every game. He swears it's bad luck. So before walking into the Staple Center last night we said a prayer that they win. and they did!! the final score was Kings 4, Rangers 1. we were so surprised that the Kings performed the way they did. we just expected to see another losing game. (so much for faith in your team huh?
another thing that was pretty cool was the amount of Rangers fans in the crowd. there were a few sections that were dominated by Rangers fans. and they held up their own. In between chants of "Ran-gers Suck!!" from the local crowd, they would start their own of "Let's go Rangers!" but it looks like that support did them little good.
love it when they celebrate. just a pat on the head is all they need...
now for the good stuff...the stuff that gets me on my feet swearing like a sailor: the fights.
they weren't huge fights where they were just duking it out, but just little scuffles. a hockey game is never complete for me unless there are some punches thrown. and a little blood is always good too. in the picture on the rights, the fight is down towards the bottom but it was up on the big screen too. three nights ago, the Kings played and two guys (I'll have to get the names from Mike) were totally going at it. The opposing team's player got knocked the f*ck out too. he had to leave the ice and was taken in the locker room because he was in a total daze. we were at Mike's parents house watching the game and I was jumping up and down like I had fire up my a$$ repeating "fight fight fight" over and over again. I was so excited. :)
anyhow, we had a good time. I almost didn't get my camera in because the lens was too long (3.5 inches is the limit). we went to two different entrances, the first of which said to put the camera in the car, but the second one let us barely slide through. They were checking it but let it go. I guess I know for next time, the point and shoot will have to do.
